Bilexa 100 Inhalation is a combination medication classified as a respiratory stimulant, commonly prescribed for treating asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition characterized by narrowed and inflamed airways, causing difficulty in breathing. Symptoms include shortness of breath and wheezing.
- COPD is a group of progressive lung diseases, including emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (bronchial inflammation), leading to restricted airways.
This medication contains:
- Fluticasone Furoate: An inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by blocking certain chemicals that trigger inflammatory responses. This helps relieve symptoms such as sneezing, shortness of breath, and wheezing.
- Vilanterol: A long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) that belongs to the bronchodilator class. It works by relaxing airway muscles, helping to open the lungs for easier breathing.
- Avoid if allergic to any component of this medication.
- Not recommended for those with life-threatening asthma or COPD conditions.

✔️ Composition: Bilexa 100
- 25/100 Capsule: Contains Vilanterol 25 mcg (as Vilanterol Trifenatate INN) and Fluticasone Furoate INN 100 mcg.
- 25/200 Capsule: Contains Vilanterol 25 mcg and Fluticasone Furoate 200 mcg.

- Vilanterol Trifenatate: A selective, long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA) that relaxes bronchial smooth muscle by increasing intracellular cyclic AMP, inhibiting hypersensitivity mediator release.
- Fluticasone Furoate: A corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity, acting on multiple inflammatory cells and mediators to manage COPD and asthma.
